Studying across a phone, tablet, and laptop is convenient;until your progress gets scattered. If you use the iMD app for question banks , you can sync important study data such as highlighted MCQs, unsolved questions, and your progress;by using iMD’s built-in Backup and Restore feature.

What You’ll Need Before You Start
- Your IMD Login Credentials
- The same question bank database downloaded on both devices.
- Stable Internet access
Step 1: Generate a Backup Code on Your Main Device
Use the device that already has your progress (your “main device”).
- Open the iMD app
- Go to your Question Banks / Databases
- Open the same QBank you want to sync
- Scroll down inside that QBank
- Tap Backup
- Tap Generate Backup Code
- iMD will show a backup code.
- Copy and save the backup code
Tip: Paste it into a notes app temporarily or send it to yourself securely.
✅ At this point, your progress for that specific QBank is now packaged into a backup code.
Step 2: Restore Your Data on Your Other Device
Now switch to your second device (phone/tablet/another platform).
- Install the iMD app and log in with the same account
- Download the same database / QBank
- Open that QBank
- Scroll down
- Tap Restore
- Paste the backup code you copied from the main device
- Confirm to restore
✅ Your highlights, progress, and related QBank data should now appear on the second device.
Important Tips (Avoid Common Sync Mistakes)
- Restore only works if the database matches. If you generate a code from Qbank, you must restore into same QBank
- Also make sure the MONTH AND THE YEAR of the QBank Match in both devices
- Keep the backup code private. It represents your personal study data.
- If you use multiple QBanks, repeat the same process one QBank at a time.
Troubleshooting: Backup/Restore Not Working?
Here are quick fixes for the most common issues:
“Restore failed” or “Invalid code”
QBank doesn’t show in downloads / database list won’t load (Android)
You can’t find Backup/Restore
FAQ
Does this sync everything automatically?
This method is a manual sync using a backup code. It’s fast and reliable when you study on multiple devices.
Can I use the same code on more than one device?
Usually, yes‐if you want multiple devices to mirror the same QBank progress. Keep your code safe and consistent.
Can I sync across Android, iOS, and desktop?
Yes you can sync across any platform through this method.
If you study on more than one device, the Backup + Restore (backup code) workflow is the simplest way to keep your iMD QBank progress consistent—especially for things like highlighted MCQs and unsolved questions.
